DeVickle, a California-based artist, is known for oil paintings that blend fantasy and nature with a dark, realistic styling. He has always been captivated by the futuristic and surreal.
In high school, DeVickle primarily worked with ink and watercolor, honing his skills in transferring small drawings to larger formats. Later, at Laguna College of Art and Design, he furthered his artistic journey by experimenting with charcoal and paint, even stretching his own canvases. His artistic endeavors were encouraged by his community, gaining him a reputation as a skilled artist.
After a hiatus, DeVickle returned to his earlier surreal style, this time utilizing acrylic on canvas. However, as he found himself drawn to the effects of oil, he made the switch and has since dedicated himself to creating stunning oil paintings.
DeVickle’s passion for art extends beyond his studio, as he is an active member of the Saddleback Art League, participates in beach city art walks, volunteers at art-focused city events, and exhibits his work in shows across Costa Mesa, Laguna Niguel, and Mission Viejo.
